Job Summary
The jobholder is responsible for reviewing and evaluating drugs and medical supplies to ensure they are safe and efficacious for consumption.
Key Duties
- Dispense prescription medications and provide information to patients about the drugs and their use.
- Review prescriptions and advice physicians and other healthcare workers on dosage, selection, drug interactions and side effects of medications to treat health problems.
- Establish and maintain methods and manner of storage systems to provide for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
- Assist in the development and review of strategies and policies for implementation and ensure monitoring and evaluation of pharmaceutical procedures.
- Provide technical support in the provision of pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies and drugs.
- Conduct quality control testing of drugs and medical supplies as well as monitor clinical trials and research to inform decision making on policies, guidelines and SOP.
Requirements
Education
A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharm. D. from a recognized University. A Minimum of provisional License

- Knowledge of policies and regulations relating to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs;

- Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration;
