Job Summary
The jobholder is responsible for processing samples such as blood, urine, stool, Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and others to diagnose disease, interpret and communicate test results.
Key Duties
- Perform a variety of laboratory procedures such as collecting biological specimen, checking samples for their condition, analyse, interpret, communicate result and store for viability of sample.
- Ensure laboratory records, reports and other statistical data are accurately completed.
- Carry out quality assurance procedures to ensure the accuracy of test results.
- Examine new test kits to ensure effectiveness and provide report on same.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Laboratory Technicians.
- Maintain record of all reagent supplied for accountability and to avoid stock out.
Requirements
Education
A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biological Sciences or it equivalent
